Genetic Analyses of “Trios” in the SOEP-IS

**Short Description:** This module aims to collect genetic data from the participants. Compared to the sample sizes of state-of-the-art genetic discovery studies (with N > 1,000,000), the sample size of the SOEP-IS is marginal. However, the project is not primarily a genetic discovery study. Although genetic data from the SOEP-IS may be included in future genetic discovery meta-analyses, the main purpose of collecting genetic data in the SOEP-IS is to enable novel, genetically informed research designs that will help social scientists to better understand environmental effects. The data can be accessed via the SOEP secure data center. Researchers interested in working with the data should contact soepmail@diw.de.
